If I could give it more stars I would!!!!! DIY Language Arts has been such an incredible addition to our homeschool. I love how this guide gives me the freedom to choose any book we’re reading or that my kids are interested in, into a complete, meaningful language arts lesson. It includes all the components I want-copy work, narrations, grammar, spelling, comprehension, and literary devices-and seamlessly blends them into each lesson. Everything is clearly explained, easy to implement, and flexible with multiple ages. My kids stay engages because learning is directly connected to the stories we enjoy. Implementing the things in this guide has made our LA time more intentional, effective, and a lot more fun. Highly recommend for any family looking for a simple, customizable, and truly rich approach to language arts. Say goodbye to boring worksheets and hello to a new way of learning! Thank you Jaimie, for pouring your heart into this so that other families can be so blessed!

This guide is, to quote Matthew Perry in Fools Rush In, everything I never knew I always wanted. When I first started homeschooling I tried to use the fun literature based curriculum with all the beautiful picture books to no avail. I had all this beautiful material but had no clue what to do with it. I resigned myself to thinking we were an open and go workbook curriculum family and that was that.
Enter the DIY Language Arts Guide. I purchased, downloaded, printed, and read the entire thing tonight after my girls went to bed and I’m giddy with excitement and cannot wait to begin planning our next school year! I love that it outlines the step by step process for creating your own unique Language Arts program without being overwhelming in the least. It is gentle and informative and inspiring. I am adding my Kindergartner to our homeschool party next school year and I was mildly terrified by the thought of attempting to fit everything for both girls into one day when we already struggle to finish lessons for ONE child. I’m not scared anymore, I’m excited at the idea of teaching my girls together using what is already our favorite part of the day, read aloud time! Thank you so much for creating this guide! I cannot wait to see how much it transforms our homeschool!
